  • Is XMOJO a commercial Web site?
    • No. XMOJO is a community Web site to encourage open source implementations and initiatives in technology arena.
  • Is XMOJO an umbrella of projects or just a JMX project?
    • XMOJO is an umbrella of projects and more open source initiatives on other various areas can be expected.
  • If I use and ship XMOJO in a commercial product, should I pay for it?
  • If I use XMOJO and go for deployment, how will I be supported if I have a critical issue and what will be the typical turnaround time?
    • Yes, the XMOJO will be supported, but the turnaround time for bug fixes cannot be guaranteed. For quick turnaround time, you can buy premium support from AdventNet Inc. For further details, contact info@adventnet.com.

Software Development Life Cycle Process

  • How are the sources maintained?
    • Currently sources are maintained in an internal CVS which is accessible for the XMOJO Team. In future, we have plans to provide public read-only access to the CVS.
  • How does XMOJO undergo testing?
    • XMOJO is validated under a wide range of test cases. There is also an automated test suite that takes care much of the core implementation testing. We have roadmap to increase the no: of test cases, increase the automated test cases and publish the test suite for public usage. All the above improvements are also derived from user inputs (bug submissions, contributions, etc).
  • What is the maintenance policy for XMOJO?
    • XMOJO will be releasing updates for releases as Service Packs (SPs). These SPs will contain bug fixes and minor feature enhancements in XMOJO. The bug fixes for critical issues will be updated for download and will be officially announced in the discussion forum and to the person who reported the issue. Please use the Bug Submission Form for effective reporting of bugs.
  • If I want a bug fix on an older release of XMOJO, how can I get it?
    • The bug fixes will be available for older releases of XMOJO very similar to the latest releases. XMOJO.org will periodically announce specific End of Maintenance and End of Life for relevant previous releases according to the traction in the previous releases with the users.
  • How the next release is planned and how the bugs are prioritized for the next release?
    • The features and bugs list will be prioritized via the discussion forum.

  • How can I submit contributions to XMOJO?
    • You can send e-mail to xmojo-contribs@xmojo.org. The attachments should not exceed 2 MB in size. If you need to send content greater than 2 MB, please upload the content to a public server and send us a URL.
  • What can I contribute to XMOJO?
    • Bug fixes, features and feature enhancements, testcases, solutions using XMOJO, etc. can be contributed to XMOJO.
  • Is there any restrictions to my contributions in XMOJO?
    • Make sure your contribution is original and addresses the need completely. If you are doing bug fixes of the existing XMOJO code, please make sure you have read the XMOJO License Agreement.
  • How will I know whether my contribution has been recognized and updated in XMOJO?
    • You will receive a personal e-mail recognizing your contribution and your contribution will be announced in the discussion forum.
  • How can I get involved in active development of XMOJO?
    • Currently active development in XMOJO is restricted to XMOJO team. Interested persons can contact xmojo-support@xmojo.org for latest update on this policy.

    • The online tracking of the status of bugs is not available. You can contact xmojo-support@xmojo.org for tracking the status of bugs.
